Protective Tony 2
Sabre do you have any more protective Tony fic recs? (If they also had identity porn with Steve hidding he is cap I would give you my firstborn, but I know that that seems a bit harder to find)
Protective Tony is one of my favorite things in the whole world. I don’t know, I just love the idea of someone looking out for Steve, even as strong and capable as Steve is. He still needs that sometimes. Here are some suggestions for you:
PROTECT YOUR AUTHORS’ HEARTS WITH COMMENTS AND KUDOS!
No Exit by @izazov:
Evading Steve becomes rather difficult when he and Tony get trapped together in an abandoned HYDRA facility.
Exit Wounds (The No Exit Remix) by @sheronm:
Tony gets trapped together with Steve in a collapsed HYDRA facility, which makes it hard to avoid him.
Nostalgia by @some-blue-jack (WIP):
“Fuck my life. Why me?” Tony asked.
Weighing of the Heart by @scifigrl47: Steve Rogers hasn’t really had a particularly easy
life. He’s struggled along, he’s proud of himself, he’s self-sufficient
and capable and he works damn hard. He has friends and a purpose and
he’s only a few semesters from graduating college. He’s managed, but
his life has been far from easy. That’s mostly because of a slight filing error. The
last thing that Steve needed was someone to watch over him. The only
thing that his Guardian Angel needs is a second chance to make a first
5 Times Tony Had Steve’s Back, and 1 Time Steve Had Tony’s by @itsallavengers:
As it turns out, Steve gets himself into a lot more shit than you would
think. And for some reason, it’s always Tony who ends up saving his
Beckon Me Home by @winterstar95:
A change in circumstances switches the tables on Tony. When an
assassination attempt leaves Steve debilitated, Tony is his only hope.
In order to save Steve, he might very well have to suffer the same fate
as Steve. A story about the paradox of love.
This is the Battle, This is the War (series) by @winterstar95: A love story. This is just the beginning.Nick Fury
asks Tony to watch Steve, to help him process this new life, his new
present. Tony decides the best way to do that is to get out of Dodge.
They end up in a house on a lake together, finding each other and
falling in love. The question is – will it last once Steve finds out
Found the Place to Rest My Head by nanasekei:
There was blood in the corner of Steve’s mouth.
Little Moments by @musicalluna:
Steve and Tony just want to enjoy a nice meal together, but between an
injury Steve got in the last fight and the paparazzi, that’s more
difficult than it sounds.
Oversight by ShyOwl:
It really wasn’t Steve’s fault that no one knew he was an omega.
Never Too Late for Love by @sineala: Steve has always believed that a soulbond is a blessing
– a rare and beautiful miracle, joining the thoughts and feelings of
two people forever, from the first time they touch. Steve knows he’s not
going to be one of the lucky ones. He knows Gail isn’t his soulmate.
But he loves her, even if they’re not soulmates, and he’s going to do
right by her. After the war’s over, he’s going to marry her, and they’re
going to settle down. They’ll buy a house. They’ll have children. He’ll
see his family again. Maybe Bucky will live next door. It’s going to be
a good life. He doesn’t need a soulbond. He’ll be fine without one. Then Steve wakes up sixty years in the future to find that his
wonderful life has moved on without him. His family is long dead. His
fiancée married his best friend. And the only purpose he has left is
leading the Ultimates, a misbegotten team of superheroes with flaws too
numerous to count. Steve hates everything about the future – but most
of all he detests Tony, flashy and flirtatious, who embodies everything
Steve hates about a world he never wanted to live in.And, oh, yeah, Steve has a soulmate after all: Tony fucking Stark.
Fall Back, I’ll Cover You by DepressingGreenie:
Tony steps in when he realises Steve is struggling during a press interview
To the Victor by @thegraytigress: Nightmares are real. Tony is living one. It’s awful,
unending, torturous. It’s driving him mad. It’s killing him. He just
wants to wake up and go back to his life with Steve, a life filled with
love and happiness. Yet every day the hell of reality presses down,
because Steve went on a mission. Steve made the ultimate sacrifice.
Steve is never coming home. And Tony can’t let himself believe it.
Fix You by @thegraytigress: The awful script, the play by play and scene by scene…
Tony isn’t going to let it happen this time. He isn’t going to let
Steve leave again. He can fix this. They can talk and not fight.
He’ll have to find a way to make that happen because this has to stop.
It has to.He has to make Steve better again.
Once the Brain Fog Clears by @impalachick:
SHIELD HQ loses contact with their Arctic Base, and they ask Steve, Sam,
and Nat to go recover their agents. But there is a monster lurking in
the ice, and it knows Steve’s weaknesses.
Don’t Take My Things by kitteekatz69:
Steve has a stalker, who eventually drugs him and kidnaps him. Tony
searches for him, and when he finds him, beats the hell out of the
Into Your Arms by amaryllis (Lillyo):
Sometimes when he feels lonely, it helps to wear Tony’s old sweater.
Steve doesn’t quite understand the inner demons he is battling, but
having Tony around is the only thing that puts him at ease.
Eigengrau by @the-vorkosigan:
Tony is captured; he doesn’t know by whom, or why. He doesn’t know how
much time has passed since. What he knows is, he can now hear something
in the adjacent cell, and that ‘something’ sounds a lot like Steve
The Weight of Armor by @the-vorkosigan:
Steve is mysteriously kidnapped. His Avengers are worried. Or: a
post-Arthurian AU, with knights and kings and swords, evil sorcerers,
half-giants out of Wales, and two certain idiots who don’t realize they
are in love.
Nyctophobia by 3BeesAndCoffee3:
Request: Can you please do a one shot of stony with fluff, and have it
so Steve is afraid of the dark and uses Tony as a nightlight. I’m sorry
that the description is bad.
I tend to write a lot of Protective!Tony. Since you were looking for something with identity porn, I’d suggest:
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Oblivion by sabrecmc: “Mr….Mr. Stark?” the man asked, shaking his head as if to clear it, grip convulsing spasmodically on Tony’s hand.“That’s
me,” Tony responded gruffly. Of course the man recognized him. His
face had been everywhere before the whole Iron Man thing and now…well,
now…so yeah, totally understandable. Guy was probably thinking of his
lawyer’s speed dial number. “Look, ambulance is on its way, okay, so
just sit tight. You’re going to be fine.” “I—I think I missed my date,” the blond man said. And promptly passed out. Or, how Tony accidentally kidnapped Captain America and then wanted to keep him.
Shattered by sabrecmc:
Tony watches the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier unfold.
And for some over-the-top Protective!Tony:
This is Not a Drill by sabrecmc: “Can I—can I see him? I mean meet him. Uh…welcome him to the team?” Tony clarified, probably not very well, he knew. “Well…there’s
a bit of an issue with that,” Fury said, and Tony figured this was
where Fury got to whatever it was that had really forced his hand and
made him call Tony in, knowing how much the man detested having to do
so. “You see, well. He was suspended in the ice for nearly seventy
years,” Fury began. Tony nodded along, because he could do math. “I’m sure he has a lot of adjusting to do—“ Tony started.“Seventy
years,” Fury repeated, cutting Tony off and leaning back in his chair
and making it rock slightly. “Of no suppressants.”“Oh,” Tony managed to choke out past the lump that had suddenly formed in his throat. “Oh.”
